UKRAINE: A Story of Resistance & Hope

E/N: I am not a journalist, this is just my two cents on this very heartbreaking situation.

As you all know, February 24 2022 was a day that the entire world will never forget; Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the autocrat of the Russian Federation invaded Ukraine as part of a 'special military operation'. From not just my eyes, but the world's (sans Russia, China etc.), that meant only one thing: WAR.

To do my part, whilst I was still in education at the time, my class banded together and decided to support Ukraine in any way possible; our solution: to donate as much money as possible to the DEC (Disaster and Emergency Committee) Humanitarian Appeal by decidedly selling hand-crafts that would give those affected hope.

From that experience, the majority of the money from the proceeds were donated immediately from all this, the total that would be sent to Ukraine: £250.00 (10,299.85 UAH), as well as a personal donation from my family: £62.50 (2,574.96 UAH).

My heart aches for those affected by this conflict, know this: We as a global community support Ukraine, humanity and peace.

This has been my piece on this terrible situation, but as I've reiterated; I feel empowered by the Ukrainian people that have taken the enormous risk to defend their country; as well as the President of the Ukrainian State: Volodomyr Zelenskkiy.
