A Futuristic Metropolis: TOKYO

After making our way down from Hiroshima, Osaka and Kyoto, our final destination before our outbound flight to the United Arab Emirates via Osaka's Kansai International Airport, was the Japanese capital region of Tokyo.

The main entrypoint to the city was the Shinagawa ward, before heading to the Dai-Ichi Hotel in the district of Shimbashi, directly in the centre of Tokyo.

This was mainly due to a last-minute payment to avoid a 25 minute commute from Shin-Urayasu station in the Odaiba Bay area.

Our first point of interest within the city appealed to me versus my dad: the Nipponbashi Pokemon Centre DX, easily accessible from Shimbashi Station on the Ginza subway line, taking between 10 to 15 minutes.

After visiting the Pokemon Centre, we decided to head to an older area of the city; Asakusa, en route to one of the busiest business districts in the capital: Shinjuku to view a 4D-esque diorama of a tabby cat on one of the district's innocuous buildings.

After visiting Shinjuku we headed further eastwards to the so called "Otaku Mecca" of Akihabara, visiting a variety store specialising in anime merch and paraphernalia, as well as a secondhand manga complex; Mandarake, where I purchased 4 unknown manga series.

That is all that we dealt with in Tokyo, before heading back westward to Shin-Osaka and Osaka Kansai International Airport to catch our flight EK317 to Dubai's International Airport, landing at 0630 AM the next day.

But that's for next time, as a mini-blog post.

A gallery of pictures will be below.

See you on the other side. :)
